The Blue Roan Child

The Blue Roan Child tells a story about a girl, Syeira who nobody knows her age and had lost her mother and doesn't know who or where her father is, and a wild Arva horse going on a journey together to find the Arwin's colts. Arwin and her colts have been separated by lord Ran, a man everybody is afraid of. Syeria and Arwin sneak out of the stable and embark on a incredible quest meeting both good and bad people, going through a dark forest in world where magic is real and anything is possible.

Actually all I have to say about this book is "read it."

Thin Wood Walls

Last night I finished reading a great book called "Thin Wood Walls". It is about Joe a eleven year old Japanese boy, I think in the time of WWII. Every japanese person man, woman, expecting mothers, boys, girls, and babies were sent to prison camps for their "safety". Before leaving, at the start of the war, Joe's father gives him and his old brother Michael a journal each and tell them that their life's were about to get interesting, to write about most all that they could, and that at the end he would like to read them. Joe, being a gifted writer starts right away, but notices his brother's journal just sitting in the corner. The author never mentions if Michael writes in it or not until the end. While traveling to the camp Joe meets a soldier, Sandy, and they become friends. Sandy doing anything he can to help Joe and his family out.
Throughout the book Joe writes haikus as journal entrees, giving emotion other ways of writing cannot. This is a book about Faith, and friendship when it is least expected.

The war gives birth to,
Pain and tragedy, hopes rise, fall,
Unexpected friends.
